A worksheet is a single page in a spreadsheet. A group of worksheets combined together form a workbook, which becomes the xlsx file (e.g. Business Plan.xlsx).
When you open any spreadsheet program (such as Excel), it opens a workbook that, by default, consists of one or more worksheets you can access through tabs.
"Hang on," some readers might say. "I've heard 'spreadsheet' and 'worksheet' defined the other way round!" Fear not – these terms are really similar. Spreadsheet and worksheet are often viewed as equivalent; what's more, both are often simply called a sheet.
